One World International School (OWIS) utilises the International Schools’ Assessment (ISA), undertaken by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and currently has more than 40 nationalities.
As part of the Global Schools Foundation (GSF), which is a Singapore-based, not-for-profit foundation, OWIS is able to make use of the administrative systems offered by the GSF, which allows the school to utilise shared services that lower costs, which, in turn, keeps school fees lower than most international schools in Singapore. The school also separates fees for core curriculum from non-compulsory activities, as it finds that compartmentalised fees allow you to design the education you want for your child.
Its spacious classrooms are equipped with iPads, Macbooks and interactive whiteboards for enquiry-based learning. In addition to the well-resourced specialist Science, Art and Music rooms and a large, carpeted space for Secondary School Drama, OWIS also has basketball courts and large fields for soccer, rugby and other ball games. An adventure playground, back garden and early childhood playground supplement the extensive space for play, exercise, outdoor education and gardening.
“I love that we are growing with the students. One World International School is evolving before our eyes as are the student’s, teachers and the whole community and it’s exciting to watch. This is a very special place to work. I love the fact that the curriculum is a mixture of the UK and International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), which gives student and teachers more flexibility in focusing on their students’ needs and learning.” – Marjorie Sweeney
