Loyalty programmes, on the other hand, guarantee substantial benefits if you’re a frequent customer. They give you access to wondrous perks such as exclusive deals, rewards, discounts, private sale events, gifts and more — all to commemorate your membership. Here’s our list of some of the best loyalty programmes you should sign up for.
Calling all coffee fiends: Don’t let your addiction go to waste. The Starbucks rewards programme allows you to earn stars and unlock perks, depending on which tier you’ve reached. The Green status allows you to redeem a free drink with every 60 stars and receive a complimentary slice of cake with any drink purchased during your birthday month, while Gold status gives you a whole lot more, such as free drink or food with every 60 stars, a complimentary slice of cake with any drink purchased and a complimentary drink during your birthday month, 10 per cent off retail merchandise on your birthday month and more.
How to join: Get a Starbucks Card from any Starbucks Singapore stores and register the card at the Starbucks Singapore App. Activate the account and start accumulating points when you purchase your brews from Starbucks. You can use the app to pay for your coffee, reload your card and get the latest promotions.
Nandos’ adorably named “PERi-Vilege Loyalty Programme” is simple: Eat loads of its chicken and collect Chillies. Earn one Chilli with each visit (with minimum spend of $15) and you’ll receive rewards on the third, sixth and ninth visit. The third visit will entitle you to a free Quarter Chicken, while the sixth and ninth will get you a Half Chicken and Whole Chicken respectively.
How to join: Register an account at its website and flash your Member ID upon ordering to collect your Chilli. Your rewards will be automatically credited to your account — flash your Member ID when ordering to redeem.
If you love having a wide variety of quality Western fare at a comfortable family-friendly restaurant, consider COLLIN’S membership programme. Every $1 spent entitles you to 10 points which can be accumulated to offset your bill.
Simply pay a $20 registration fee for the lifetime membership and receive 2,000 points immediately as well as a complimentary Trio of Mushroom Soup. Members also get 10 per cent off your total bill for a la carte items. On your birthday month, you receive a free main course from their Classic category, and for that month, every $1 spent entitles you to 15 points.
4. Harry’s Bar
For great food, delicious drinks and a nice atmosphere for cosy chilling with your pals, Harry’s is the place to go. We love that its mobile loyalty program is packed full of perks. Members get 15 per cent off regular-priced food and beverages items and members-only exclusive benefits. During your birthday month, you’ll receive $100 worth of birthday vouchers to celebrate that month in style. Best of all, new members get more than $30 worth of vouchers to get things started.

5. Rocky Master
This homely casual dining chain has been around since 1999, serving comforting yet delicious Western and Asian cuisine. It’s certified halal too. If you’re a fan, sign up for its loyalty programme for free and immediately receive a complimentary cup of its devil’s brew coffee or tea worth $3.90. All you need to do is top up $20 to get an additional $2 free, or top up $50 to receive $5 free. You can also accumulate points ($1 spent = 1 point, however points are not awarded for transactions made by the stored value in the membership account) and redeem a $10 e-voucher for every 200 Rocky Master points earned.

6. Park Hotel Group
Earn PARK$ (Park Dollars) and redeem perks and discounts (such as late check-out, room upgrades etc) and when you join Park Hotel Group’s Park Rewards loyalty programme. To accumulate PARK$, simply stay or dine at the participating hotels, restaurants and bars managed by Park Hotel Group. Earned PARK$ will be instantly be credited into your account and will be available for use immediately. What’s great about this is the points don’t expire (as long as you keep your account active) and there are no blackout dates.

No longer just a ride-sharing app, Grab is now an all-round lifestyle platform comprising transportation, cashless payment and food delivery services. Simply use its GrabPay option to earn GrabRewards points — whether you are paying for your hired ride, on GrabFood or at participating stores — which can then be used to redeem rides, discounts, vouchers and even miles. There are four loyalty tiers: Member, Silver, Gold and Platinum, with higher tiers receiving more exclusive rewards. The higher your tier, the fewer points are required to redeem deals.
How to join: Download the Grab app and start using the GrabPay option on your transactions to accumulate points and progress up the tiers. Note that GrabRewards points will not be awarded on GrabHitch, GrabShuttle, and GrabWheels rides. For more info, visit here.
If you’re a fan of the clean, minimalist Japanese aesthetic, then the Muji membership programme is perfect for you. Members of Muji can pay less under their membership scheme, by using accumulated MUJI$ to offset their bill. Every $20 spent at either their retail shops or their cafe will earn 0.50 MUJI$. On your birthday month, you get an e-voucher for 15 per cent off your transaction, which can be redeemed at both its shops and cafes (valid for one-time use within birthday month). Best of all, you can use your rewards for both regular priced and sale items.
How to join: You’ll need to spend a minimum of $50 (maximum two combined same-day receipts) from Café&Meal and/or Muji retail to register for a lifetime membership. Make commuting more bearable by earning rewards when you travel with your ez-link card. All you have to do is to link your ez-link card to the EZ-Link app and start earning points whenever you use your card, whether it is for pubic transport, Electronic Road Pricing charges, retail, vending machines and more. Every $0.10 spent earns you one point, and accumulated points can be exchanged for rewards such as discounts off food, drinks and electronics and deals from lifestyle brands.
How to join: Download the EZ-Link app, link your ez-link card by keying in the 16-digit CAN ID at the back of the card and earn points with every tap of the card.
10. Changi Rewards
Not a jetsetter? That’s alright. If you love simply hanging out at the tranquil and pristine Changi Airport (and now that Jewel Changi is open, there’s even more reason to go!), sign up for its rewards programme to make the most of your time there. Earn points by spending at the retail and dining options there ($10 spent gets you 10 points, 20 points or 60 points — depending on which tier you’re at), and points can be converted to e-Vouchers or redeemed for exclusive rewards such as attraction passes, exclusive items, partner deals and more.
How to join: Sign up here or via the iChangi mobile app, which you can use to keep track of your membership details. After registering, you can start to shop with your Changi Rewards e-Card on the app. Note that Changi Rewards points earned in the last programme year (April 1 to March 31) must be used by June 30 in the current programme year, after which they expire.
11. Cle de Peau Beaute
With a name that means “key to beautiful skin”, you can be sure the products at this luxury Japanese beauty brand will make you look radiant both inside and out.
A Gold Tier membership gives you a free facial or makeover right off the bat. These services are not for sale, so you’ll get to enjoy them only if you are a member.
The brand tracks members’ purchases for a full calendar year and gives them 5 per cent rebate off that total amount which they can then redeem next year. So say you spent $1,000 there in 2018. You’ll get a letter in around May or June 2019 stating that you have $50 rebate that you can claim. You get double rebates on the first purchase you make on your birthday month, access to exclusive events to learn beauty tips and skills, and you’ll be the first to know about new launches.
Diamond Tier members get a welcome gift and birthday gift, and priority when it comes to special promotions and limited-edition sets. They can also redeem three more complimentary facials or makeover services.
How to join: Spend $100 in a single receipt, and your purchases must include a skincare or base makeup product, to qualify for Gold Tier membership. Spend $500 nett for the Diamond Tier membership. There is a special Platinum Tier membership, but that is by invite only.
This South Korean cosmetics brand is known for its eco-friendly initiatives and use of natural ingredients. Its membership has three tiers: Welcome, Premium and VIP. All members get a one-time welcome gift. Premium members get a birthday gift and VIP members get a birthday and VIP gift every year.
Every dollar you spend entitles you to accumulate 1, 1.5 and 2 points for Welcome, Premium and VIP tiers respectively. Premium and VIP members can accumulate double points for the first purchase in June and December too. Every 50 points accumulated gets you a $1 rebate. Innisfree also encourages you to go greener – bring back your empty bottles and get 50 membership points.
How to join: Make any purchase to become a Welcome-tier member – yes, any purchase. Or spend $120 in a year to qualify for the Premium membership and $250 for the VIP membership.
Featuring around 200 brands including its own, Sephora’s loyalty programme is a must-have for anyone who loves beauty. There are three tiers, White, Black and Gold. Accumulate a point with every dollar spent (that’s doubled on your birthday), and exchange it for products or a discount off your next purchase. Black Beauty Pass members get a welcome gift, birthday gift, access to private sales while Gold members get early access to private sales, events, launches and makeovers.
How to join: Just sign up to get the White Beauty Pass. Spend $300 and $1500 to get the Black and Gold Beauty Passes respectively.
Welcome gifts, birthday treats, new product pre-sampling, invitations to special events and beauty classes, and updates on the latest launches and promotions are just some of the privileges you get as a Fresh VIP. Fun fact: the American brand started as an apothecary selling soaps and is now known for their wide range of masks.
There are three tiers to its membership, Platinum, Privileged and Prestige, and each will get a different set of welcome and birthday treats. Every dollar spent equals one fresh point, and you can redeem your points for gift sets. You get double points for purchases made during your birthday month, and special double bonus points events.
How to join: Spend $250 within six months to be a Platinum member, and $600 or $1,200 within 12 months for the Privileged and Prestige membership respectively.
Sulwhasoo is one of South Korea’s most popular luxury skincare brands, with a focus on Korean herbal ingredients.
Like the other beauty brands on this list, Sulwhasoo has three different types of membership tiers – Basic, VIP and VVIP. Every dollar spent gets you one point, which you can then exchange for a list of treatments or full-sized products, such as the Overnight Vitalizing Mask at 800 points.
Basic members get double points on their birthdays, a birthday gift, 10 per cent off regular-priced products at their boutiques and invitation to workshops; VIP members get a complimentary facial and invites to events too, on top of the privileges that the Basic members get. VVIP members get all these, but 2.5 times bonus points on their birthdays.
How to join: Any purchase gets you into the Basic tier membership. Spend $2,500 to $5,999 in a calendar year to be a VIP member, or more than $6,000 to be a VVIP.

Set up by Wing Tai Retail, the Wt+ membership allows you to accumulate points with your spending across the 13 brands under its wing, which includes familiar names such as Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and G2000. There are three tiers: Silver, Gold and Premium. The higher the tier the more points you accumulate with each dollar spent. Every 20 points can be used to offset a dollar off your purchase .Gold and Premium members can also get 10 per cent off your regular priced purchases. How to join: Enrolling in the Wt+ membership as a Silver member is free and can be done via their website, or you could do so at participating stores. You can also refer a friend to join the membership and earn points when they register and make their first purchase. Spend $300 or $1,000 to be upgraded to Gold or Premium membership.
A brand that hailed from Czechoslovakia (when it still existed), Bata is known for its accessible prices and quality footwear that cater to the whole family. Signing up to be a member of its Bata Club program will get you a complimentary $10 voucher and entitle you to a 10 per cent discount off regular-priced items. You’ll also get 20 per cent off on your birthday month. Higher membership tiers of gold and platinum reward you with greater dollar value — for instance you’d get a $20 voucher for $200 spent if you’re a gold member. How to join: To join the free membership, you can do so online via their website or at a Bata store. A Singaporean number is needed to complete the registration. The complimentary $10 voucher lasts one month from the date of issue.
18. In Good Company
If you love timeless silhouettes updated with modern designs, In Good Company is the place to go. The local label first started as an online store but now has its own standalone stores with collections catering to men, women and children. Accumulate points with your purchases, whether you do them online via their website or offline at any of their three stores. Once you accumulate a total spend of $1,000, you’ll be upgraded to a Frequent Shopper and get perks such as a birthday month discount of 15 per cent and a $50 cash voucher for every $500 spend.

Japanese label Uniqlo is loved for its quality basics and unique collaborations. If you’re a fan, download the Uniqlo app. After purchasing in-store, scan the barcode within the app to register your purchases. Every $20 spent allows you a chance to play the in-app game that lets you win weekly prizes, such as $10 vouchers that can be used on your next purchase.

20. Charles & Keith
Charles & Keith is one of Singapore’s biggest fashion success stories and has grown to be an international footwear and bag label. Their membership has two tiers — silver and gold. The former can be joined with a purchase either at their retail store or online. However, you’ll need to spend an accumulated $500 or a one-time purchase of at least $250 to be upgraded to gold member. Gold members enjoy privileges such as free standard delivery and access to private events and workshops.
How to join: Make a purchase at their store, either online or off.
