5 Ways To Make Your Kids Actually Excited To Go To School

As one of the leading international schools in Singapore, Stamford American International School values every student as a unique individual. Each of its offerings are designed to equip students with the knowledge and experience needed to face the tests of adult life ahead.

And here’s why students love it!

1. They’re started young

Stamford American students begin their Early Years learning journey through the use of Teaching Strategies Gold Tracking, which is aligned to the USA Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.

It provides developmentally appropriate standards to help guide learning of young children.

2. Specialist education

Stamford American offers foreign language lessons with daily Mandarin or Spanish. It also has bilingual lessons in Mandarin and English, Suzuki Violin, specialist physical education under both the SMART Steps and Perceptual Motor Program, and inspires healthy eating habits and family-style eating, which is vital for the preschool years.

3. Choosing their own path

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is combined with the rigorous American Education Reaches Out (AERO) standards with the choice to graduate with the IB Diploma or American High School Diploma with Advanced Placement (AP) credits or both. Students can receive AP credits from Grade 10 with more than 40 AP courses and 20 IB courses to choose from.

4. Inspired learning

The new Early Learning Village for kids between 18 months and 6 years opens in August 2017, and has purpose-built facilities like classrooms with dedicated outdoor discovery spaces, a multi-purpose gym called The Hive as well as a flexible school schedule.

What parents say

“The teachers make the classroom such an open and exciting place. The school’s diversity enables my daughter to be sensitive to others, and its programmes are led by what each child wants to do and how she chooses to learn. Ella has gained more confidence and independence, and is sad when she misses a day of school!”

– Nicola Kemp, mum to Ella, who is in Nursery
