As one of the top Google searches, it seems that “under-eye circles” are a major concern for many people.
Yet, most people who have these dark circles rely on concealers to hide them, rather than addressing the root of the problem.
First, what are they exactly? Dark eye circles are basically blood vessels around the eye contour area that show through as a result of thinning skin.
It’s why they become more common and visible as people age, since the skin loses its density as people get older. Another major factor is lack of sleep, because inadequate rest can lead to poor circulation, which is why skin may look dull and undereye area appear shadowy. And, just like many other skincare concerns, the circle can be due to allergies or just because some people are genetically predisposed to dark under eyes.
Genetics aside, there are a host of solutions when it comes to getting rid of dark eye circles. Here are the top 5 ways to reduce their appearance.
