As Co-creator of Violet Oon Singapore, Ms Violet Oon’s life mission is to curate, collate and celebrate Singapore’s food. She is widely regarded to be an authority on Asian cuisine, specialising in Nyonya food. And this is perhaps no better exemplified through her immaculate menus and delectable dishes.
From 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., take your senses and taste buds for a trip around Singapore with the restaurant’s High Tea Menu. For $58++ (serves two), treat yourselves to some Chilli Crab Tartlets with Quail Egg, Egg Salad Tartlet swith Pineapple Patchare, Orh Nee Cream Puffs, Kueh Ko Sui, and many more Singaporean-inspired bites, all paired with the most premium of tea it has to offer.

2. The Marmalade Pantry
The Marmalade Pantry is known for its luxurious ambience, premium teas and exquisite cupcakes. But this homegrown bistro also offers a hearty Afternoon Tea Set if you’re looking to have something more fulfilling.
Priced at $54 for two, its afternoon treat includes a selection of Roast Beef, Truffle Egg Mayo and Chicken Cranberry Sandwiches, Buttermilk Scones with Strawberry Preserve, Orange Marmalade, Clotted Cream, as well as two pots of tea of your choice. Diners here can’t get enough of the pastries, refreshments, as well as the exquisite ambience of the restaurant. Beautifully decorated and posh, it’s understandable if you thought the high tea offerings from this Versailles-styled fine dining restaurant would be costly. Fortunately, it offers a range of menus for every budget, including affordable Tea Time menus (prices range from $20 to $36 per pax, available from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily).
Its 1837 Tea Time menu – at $20 per pax – is not too shabby, comprising your choice of either two Freshly Baked Muffins or Scones served with TWG Tea jelly and whipped cream, or a Pâtisserie from the trolley, and either hot or iced tea you can pick from its extensive tea list. With its Parisan Tea Time menu – at $36 per pax – you get an assortment of Finger Sandwiches, choice of Truffle Croque or Croque Salmon, Muffins, Scones, Pâtisseries, and of course, its exquisite teas. 4. Brunches Café
From the rustic wooden furniture and metal grills, to the vintage-themed ornaments and antique car display (which has been converted into a seating area), Brunches Café is the perfect place for old souls to indulge in a teatime tête-à-tête.
Take a trip down memory lane with your buddies as you savour its High Tea Set, which will cost $36 for two. Served in an attractive three-tiered bird cage, their set includes sliders, mini tarts, a range of assorted cakes and a pot of tea where you can choose from six of their house blends – such as their berry-infused “Beauty” tea and oolong with chamomile “Slow Down & Relax” tea. 5. Arteastiq Tea Lounge
True to its name, high tea at Arteastiq is certainly an artistic affair. Housed in a photogenic two-tiered gold cage, its Signature High Tea set – which will cost you $48 for two – comes with an assortment of intriguing sweet and savoury treats, like a Chocolate Cone with Banana Custard, and Foie Gras Terrine on Toast with Yuzu Marmalade and crushed Pistachios.
Beverages – you get to pick two of their specialty teas – are equally fascinating, too. Try the Chocolate Truffle or the Osmanthus Oolong tea. If you’re in the mood to spend, try out its National Treasure High Tea set ($55 for two) which pays homage to various local delicacies, or its Luscious Seafood High Tea ($98 for two) a luxurious three-course with a plethora of fresh quality seafood. 6. Wildseed Cafe @ The Summerhouse
Nestled inside a refurbished colonial house beside an airplane runway, Wildseed Cafe @ The Summerhouse boasts a quaint interior of bricked walls and hanging dried florals that is a dream for the frequent Instagrammer.
Located at Seletar Aerospace Park, which is often described as “Dempsey in the North”, Wildseed offers an Afternoon Tea Set ($45 for two). This set includes a line-up of sweets like Madeleines, Macaroons, Mini Brownies, Mini Cheesecakes; savouries including Mini Truffle Brie Tarts and Mini Croissant Croque Monsieur; as well as two cups of coffee or tea. The dainty and exquisite éclairs from L’éclair Pâtisserie Café need no introduction. The Coastal Settlement is a casual dining restaurant, café and bar, tucked in the quiet estate of Changi Village. Surrounded by lush trees, shrubs and green fields, it’s perfect of a chill afternoon getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can even take a peek of the sea while dining.
Its High Tea Set ($19/pax; minimum of 2 pax) is relatively affordable, and includes Assorted Macarons, Cendol Panna Cotta, Fruit Tarts, Cake of the Day, Crispy Char Siew Soh, Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese Sandwich, Mini Curry Puff, plus a choice of free flow (yes, free flow!) coffee or tea. High tea here is available from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

If you’re looking for some Japanese-inspired Afternoon Tea, there is perhaps no better place than Pan Pacific’s Atrium. Available from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays, as well as 12.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. (first seating) or 3.15 p.m. to 5.45 p.m. (second seating) on Fridays to Sundays, its Afternoon Tea Menu is not to be missed.
At $44 per guest, diners can enjoy a wide range of sweets, savouries and beverages. This includes Japanese Egg Sandwich and Milk Butter Rolls, Smoked Trout, Nori and Wasabi Mayonnaise Sandwiches, Matcha Azuki Monaka, Raspberry Lychee Rose Roulade, as well as some Matcha Green Tea Latte.
