Founded in 1995, EtonHouse International School has been trusted by parents globally for over two decades.
Its 14 campuses in Singapore cater to students from Pre-Nursery to Year 13, offering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma. It also has two additional Middleton International School campuses in Singapore, making 16 locations islandwide.
The school’s unique language programmes have produced many cohorts of fluent bilingual speakers, while its inquiry-based curriculum helps children to develop skills and dispositions that nurture a lifelong love of learning. At the end of the day? EtonHouse puts children at the centre of all decision-making – and prepares them for an unknown future.
3 Fast Facts:
1. Personalised Support
Because of its boutique campuses and generous staff-student ratio (ranging from 1 to 4 in Pre-Nursery), EtonHouse provides personalised academic and pastoral support to help students from diverse backgrounds and abilities succeed. The school has a close-knit community where every staff member knows every student by name. Students feel valued, nurtured and secure in this inclusive school environment. Parents can choose to send their children to one of 10 preschools, and then progress them to four international schools, including the centrally located K-12 campus at Orchard Road.
2. Bilingual Environment
From the early years, children are immersed in a bilingual environment, and are able to spontaneously and effectively pick up English and Chinese – because the lessons and experiences are designed to be fun, engaging and meaningful. Parents looking for intensive Chinese language education can choose the popular 100 percent Chinese Immersion Programme at Zhong Hua and Robertson Walk preschools, or the bilingual immersion programme at Broadrick for Year 1 onwards.
Beyond Chinese, EtonHouse also offers Japanese, Hindi, Tamil, Malay and Spanish languages at selected campuses. Its English as an Additional Language (EAL) and intensive EAL lessons have helped countless non-native English speakers build a strong English foundation, too.
From August 2021, EtonHouse International School Orchard will be launching a one-year Foundation IB Programme. This programme is for students joining the school in Year 11 who want to study the IB Diploma but require additional English language and study proficiency skills. The holistic programme ensures students are exceptionally well prepared for the IB Diploma undertaken in Year 12 and 13.
3. From Strength To Strength
EtonHouse Orchard has a brand-new wing for its secondary school students to meet the demand for additional spaces since its inception in 2018. But the school has grown not just in student numbers. It has gained international recognition as well.
“Being a relatively small school means that everyone knows everyone, so making friends has been easy. The teachers are very supportive and flexible in their approach with regard to teaching. They are also encouraging the creativity and ‘out of the box thinking’ of Noé as well as Oscar’s passion for architecture and drawing.”
– Robert and Beatrice Stirrup, parents of Noé and Oscar (both Y5), and Camille (Y9) and Maël Stirrup (Y12)
