Expatpreneur Awards 2021: Get Stylish In The Tropics With Tiffany Maughan

Tiffany Maughan is no stranger to the fashion industry. While studying business management and fashion design in Australia in her 20s, she worked as a store manager for Aussie fashion brand Sportsgirl, before landing a job as an in-house model.

“I was involved in all areas, from marketing, design and modelling to liaising with buyers’ agents,” recalls Tiffany, who went on to live in fashion capitals London and Tokyo.

Tokyo is where the stylish global citizen first established her brand, Shopping at Tiffany’s. That was in 2001. She brought it to Singapore in 2006 to meet a need she saw here. “I felt there was a gap in the market with the choice of clothing – it was either low- or high-end, with not much in between,” says Tiffany, whose brand
focuses on fashion for a tropical climate.

The products are refreshingly affordable. They typically start from $69 for tops, $85 for dresses and $89 for glamorous jumpsuits and more ornate evening dresses. Beyond saving shoppers money, the mother of three is committed to saving the earth. Her personal label Kenz & Kate is both fair trade and ethically produced.

Though she values the freedom of being her own boss, Tiffany says – in another life – she’d want to be a real estate agent. “I love the housing market,” she enthuses. “Selling is in my blood and meeting people is what I love to do.”
