Find out how fertility-focused wellness clinic Counsellingconnectz is helping even more couples in Singapore, despite these Covid times.
With the world still battling a pandemic, the past year has been anything but normal. This constant state of uncertainty has made it difficult for entrepreneurs to make long-term plans. Director and founder of fertility wellness clinic in Singapore, Counsellingconnectz’s Tanja Faessler – agrees, too.
However, since winning the Most Innovative Award in The Finder’s Expatpreneur Awards 2020, Tanja’s fertility coaching and counselling company has thrived. Here is what’s new with Counsellingconnectz.
1. Taking counselling sessions online
“I realised people need more help in getting guidance, as well as overcoming mental and emotional challenges and also the strain that a home office can put on relationships,” says Tanja. The good news: More people have been getting help through her company, which has seen a significant increase in clients getting marriage counselling, and going for its depression and anxiety treatments.
How has it done this? The company offers online-only sessions dealing with issues such as how to keep your inner balance and run a household, and how to be an “emotional cheerleader” for your kids and partner. In addition, it has online sessions focused on sleep disorders and anxiety, and conducts Facebook interviews with fertility specialists that are available to its social media followers.
2. Making room for husbands on the fertility journey
With travel restrictions heightened, more couples have started to give more thought to family planning, says Tanja. When it comes to wanting to expand the family, the attention is usually on women. But Counsellingconnectz is more keen than ever to make sure that husbands don’t feel left out. As a result, the company has hired its first-ever male counsellor intern to provide hubbies with a space to communicate.
3. Delivering training to clinic staff
The increase in couples thinking about starting a family has led to an increase in patients who are going to fertility clinics, shares Tanja. As a result, clinics have increased the size of their teams. And, over the past months, Counsellingconnectz has become a specialised provider in delivering training to clinic staff. Topics covered include the best ways to break bad news, strengthening teams, stress management and self-care.
“I feel the passion for what we do and continue to have many innovative ideas for the future,” shares Tanja, who started the company in 2012. “I am just deeply grateful for being part of such an amazing team.”
