How To Feel Like You’re in Business Class While Travelling in Coach

Make your next flight comfier – even if your stuck in economy class – with these 4 easy tricks:

1.  BOOST YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING A SEAT UPGRADE

Check in early – preferably right after the check-in counter opens – and ask if you could get an upgrade to the next class. If the flight has been overbooked, you just may get bumped up. You’re also more likely to get the seat upgrade if you’re well dressed and look polished. So avoid comfy loungewear – go for a dress or a suit instead.

2.  SNAG THE COMFIEST SEAT ON THE PLANE

Choose a seat at the rear of the plane – most passengers don’t like sitting at the back, so there’ll likely be more unoccupied seats in the area, especially on an emptier flight. This means you’ll have more space to stretch out. If you want extra legroom, choose a seat in the bulkhead row (the first row in economy).

3.  HAVE YOUR MEAL SERVED FIRST

When you book your flight, be sure to pre-order a special meal, like the diabetic, vegan or halal one. Flight attendants always serve these first, so you don’t have to wait for the food cart to make its way to you.

4.  GET BETTER SLEEP

Pre-book the more ‘valuable’ seats – such as those with more legroom – so you can really stretch out and be comfortable. Then, think about what you’ll need for a good rest – a soft blanket, an eye mask and a neck pillow (which you can request for or purchase on the flight if you don’t want to bring your own).

Since you saved so much on your flight, why not treat yourself to a great hotel?! We’ve got the perfect one!
