This combo allows flexibility and more thorough treatment for natural pigment and even tattoo removal. The pulse duration of the laser is 450 picoseconds, hence the name. The procedure literally explodes the pigment without causing peeling or discomfort, which is called cold rejuvenation.

This Orchard Road clinic has the Mosaic skin regeneration laser treatment, which is good for scars (acne, surgical, trauma, stretch marks), is a 20 to 30 minute that uses fractional resurfacing technology to rejuvenate the skin. It reduces wrinkles and scarring and helps restore aging and skin damaged by the sun.

According to the Mendis’ website, the treatment “delivers thousands of microscopic laser beams to the skin that work on both the surface and deeper layers of the skin, dramatically improving skin texture, tone and coloration.” The laser goes deep but does not affect surrounding (outside) tissue, giving good results in a few sessions and minimal downtime. It’s fast, too – only 10 to 15 minutes of the laser procedure and then a calming gel application for 20.

The clinic recommends follow up once or twice a year to keep the collagen and dermal elastin fibres flowing.

Cost: Between $500 to $1,000, depending on Dr. Mendis’s recommendation.

This Arab Street clinic features a broad range of laser treatments for skin issues. One of particular note is its Pico Tattoo Laser treatment. The FDA-approved Pico laser shows up again on the list, this time to combat the pigment in tattoos for those who want to get rid of one (or three!).

Amari B’s website says that, while tattoos have become a popular art form over the years, the removal demand has gone up over 400-percent! That’s a lot of regret. While the laser breaks up the tattoo pigment, white blood cells collect the ink and filter it through the liver for disposal. And because the laser moves in short bursts so fast, 450 picoseconds, to be exact, it doesn’t damage the surrounding skin. That means faster recovery and even skin texture is improved. Customers should be prepared to do several sessions (up to six) for total tattoo removal.

Cost: From $188 depending on size of tattoo.

Amaris B
Address: 140 Arab St., 199827

Cutis Medical Laser Clinics certainly have the name right. While they have a variety of different laser services for the face and body, one that stands out from other clinics is its vein treatment. Unsightly veins on the face can go bye bye with the Cutera Laser Vein reduction.

The Cutera CoolGlide Laser zaps veins with pulses of light, which cause the blood to coagulate. It eventually destroys the blood vessel and is reabsorbed by your skin. This redirects the blood to deeper veins so you can’t see them. The clinic uses a topical anaesthetic to help lessen any stinging sensation.

Cost: From $1,590 for full-face 5-month treatment package.

Because the sessions are painless, there is no downtime.

The LED encourages cellular regeneration, stimulating collagen production, which reduces fine lines and accelerates healing, while the radiofrequency tightens and reduces cellulite in the skin. After treatments, skin is smooth and has more elasticity, rather than droops, lines and sags.
