This British label has won the hearts of many stylish celebs, from pop princess Rihanna to real-life princess Kate Middleton. Newly appointed creative director Richard Nicoll, who has designed capsule collections for Topshop and Fred Perry, presents his preppy and sporty take on schoolgirl chic in his debut collection. For a varsity vibe, he embellishes hoodies and denim jackets with iron-on patches and bold J and W lettering.

 

5. KG Kurt Geiger

This season, it offers boldly striped pencil skirts and flared pants.

 

7. Whistles

Best for: Metallic accessories and sharply tailored jackets

Every British fashion editor’s wardrobe must-have in the ’90s was a pair of black tailored pants from Whistles. Fast forward to 2013, and the British label earned a spot at London Fashion Week.
