Each month we bring you some of the hippest expats’ favourite finds in Singapore. Here are Belinda Fox’s favourite places to eat, play and shop!
Who: Belinda Fox, artist
What: Belinda just returned from a sold out show in Sydney; her exhibition at Chan Hampe Galleries opens Jan. 13 (328 North Bridge Rd). Her new book (below) is already there.
Where: From Melbourne; living in Singapore for 3 years. “I love the diversity here. My daughter has about 12 different cultures in one classroom.”
“Honestly, we don’t go out much!” protests Belinda. But Jamie’s Italian suits her family’s laid-back tastes – especially the kids’ menu. “The Prosecco is very nice, too – and a good price.”

Coffee Bean Joy
“Bloody Good” Exercise
“Running at East Coast Park is an amazing way to start the day,” says Belinda, who used to enjoy Momentum Bootcamps. “I miss being yelled at to do more sit-ups!”
Belinda likes Journey East for unique pieces, such as a recent score: recycled tin lamps by Shanghai-based Dutch designer Jonas Merian. (315 Outram Rd)
Where does an artist go to see art? “I love visiting the Gillman Barracks and Singapore Art Museum.” Right now at the Barracks art cluster: a thought-provoking show by Shanghai-based Tang Dixin; at SAM: the SG50-inspired “5 Stars” exhibit.
