My Favourite Singapore Finds: Nico Heath

Each month The Finder searches the island for the hippest and coolest expat “in the know” to share their favourite Singapore finds. Here, Nico Heath, shares his Singapore hot spots.

Who: Nico Heath, Co-Founder & Director of Lightfoot Travel

What: Nico’s award-winning company designs bespoke trips on six continents – and launches its own luxury travel magazine, Travel by Lightfoot, this month.

Where: Originally from the U.K., he’s lived in Kenya and moved to Singapore in 2010. “As a travel junkie, the ease with which we can hop around Asia is high up on my list.”

Best Food in Town

Blu Kouzina Greek Salad

Nico’s “bests”: Blu Kouzina for Friday supper (“best Greek in town”), No Menu during the week (“best lunch place”) and ION Orchard’s Paradise Dynasty for weekend lunch (“best dimsum”).

‘Bella for Beer

PasarBella Beer

Come Sunday, Nico strolls PasarBella at Turf City. “Picking up fresh seafood, meat and craft beers in the quaint market, followed by a lunch – or brunch – of bagels, paella, seafood and cheese makes for a great Sunday.”

Hot Decor Spot

Vaughan Designs Decorative Lighting.

Nico’s wife, Millie, works at Vaughan Designs. “We’re lucky to have its decorative lighting in our house.” ($610.71)

Shirts Made Special

Frangipani Shirts

“I’m a sucker for Frangipani shirts since moving to Asia,” he says. Nico also has a tailor make linen shirts for him: “Nani from Iris Tailor Singapore in Lucky Plaza.” (304 Orchard Rd, #01-102)

Ruck and Roll!

HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens

HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens is happening in April 2016, and Nico is excited. “I’m sure we can give Hong Kong a run for its money in terms of creating a euphoric atmosphere.”
