Seletar: Things To Do + Where To Eat, Drink And Shop

Venture into this lesser-known neighbourhood.

Looking to tread into the unknown like Elsa? Seletar is definitely the place you should go to on your next trip out!

While Seletar might be considered by most Singaporeans as “ulu” (meaning remote in Singlish), it is filled with hidden gems you are bound to love. From hidden cafes to picturesque nature spots, there is a range of activities and food options to choose from with our guide to Seletar.

Now for a little history lesson time! Originally a rubber plantation estate, a large area of the grounds was purchased by the Straits Settlement government and given to the British Royal Air Force (RAF) to establish a military airbase in Singapore. Completed in 1929 and opened in 1930, Seletar Airport served as the first RAF base east of India and as Singapore’s first international civilian airport.

Now, the area has been developed into an aerospace park to cater to the growing aerospace industry in Singapore. So, do expect to hear aeroplanes flying by!

Here is what to do, eat and shop at Seletar.
