Learn How Values Matter At This Lasallian Catholic International School In Singapore

St. Joseph’s Institution International’s (SJII’s) mission is to enable students to “learn how to learn and learn how to live”.

Across its two campuses, which serve a diverse community of nearly 2,000 students, this school endeavours to help every student complete school with a spiritual dimension, and passionate interests and hobbies developed through sports, adventure, music and drama activities.

3 Fast Facts:

1. The Best Of Both Worlds

With an IPC curriculum, SJII Elementary caters to children from Prep 1 to 2 and Grades 1 to 6. The High School admits students in Grades 7 to 12 while offering the IGCSE and IB Diploma programme. In fact, its High School is one of only three schools in SG with a licence to educate both international and SG students

2. Serious About Service Learning

Service learning is vital to SJII as it strives to develop students who “enter to learn and leave to serve”. In High School, its holistic programme develops the whole person through academic rigour and by providing opportunities for character growth (service to others, physical challenge, cultural and spiritual immersion). Values are just as important at the Elementary School. Its Character Development Programme, underpinned by The Virtues Project, teaches younger students to live more meaningful lives through compassion and integrity.

3. Child-Centred Learning

SJII’s dedicated teachers use a child-centred, active-learning approach. Teachers not only communicate individually with students, they also celebrate their unique learning style, encouraging them to think and to act rather than simply respond to situations.

Parent Perspective

“The school has worked with us to offer opportunities for Flynn to explore his interests and support him in the areas that are challenging. For Matilda, who has an interest in playing the harp, the school agreed to facilitate lessons with her harp teacher at school. We’re grateful that they prioritise our children’s passions and pursuits! It’s reassuring that the staff genuinely care about their wellbeing: They take the time to get to know them, foster their strengths, and help them when they’re struggling.”

– Skye Wellington, parent of Matilda (G5) and Flynn (G3)
