Super Strollers for Cruising Around Singapore with Kids

Choosing a baby stroller is almost like choosing a car – except more stressful and complicated and almost as expensive. (Ok, maybe that’s a stretch but when you’re baby stroller shopping, it can feel this way!) There are hundreds of brands with hundreds of models and even more options. The price of strollers varies widely and isn’t always indicative of “better” because, after all, what’s great for one family may be not so great for another.

We’re here to help with some of the most popular and reputable strollers that will make walking your baby through Singapore’s feel like…a walk in the park!

For the Outdoorsy Types:

Stokke Trailz

Like the BOB, this is a great all terrain stroller for the active family. Unlike the BOB, Stokke Trailz comes with carry cot and seat to move from infant to baby. Large, air-filled tyres provide a smooth ride for baby and easy pushing for you. With superior manoeuvrability, sturdy construction, adjustable, ergonomic handle and plenty of room for storage, the Stokke Trailz is great for wherever you plan to go. With adaptations for car seats, front or rear facing seating options, this stroller will grow with your child and adapt to her growing needs.

Available in store at Mothercare, Motherswork, and Mums & Babes.

BOB Revolution Flex

For the active mom going for a run along East Coast Park or through the Botanic Gardens, the BOB will feel like a dream – smooth, easy to manoeuvre and feels like you’re pushing a feather. Long renowned among running mums as a must-have stroller, the Flex features a roomy seat, huge canopy with large viewing window, large easy to access basket, adjustable padded 5 point harness, and easy fold. It weighs a little over 11 kilos which isn’t bad for a jogger but not so great if you are hopping on and off the bus. It’s also best for kids over 6 months though you can get an adapter seat for infants. (They recommend not jogging with infants.)

May be difficult to find in Singapore but can be purchased on Amazon and shipped to Singapore. (Or check our marketplace page and maybe nab a used one!)

For the Growing Family

Uppa Baby Vista

The Uppa Baby Vista is truly a stroller that will not only grow with your child, but will grow with your family. The Vista provides multiple configurations, allowing you to transport, one, two and even three kids (of different ages) at once. The front seat can be front or rear facing, while they ride along board can be attached for a standing toddler. There is plenty of storage space on this sturdy stroller which folds compactly but is on the heavier side at 12.4 kilos.

Joovy Caboose Stand On Tandem Double Stroller

Close this window

Another option for families with a baby and a toddler is the Joovy Caboose Stand On Tandem. As the name suggests, your older child has the option to sit (without back rest) or stand, while your baby rides rear facing in an adaptable car seat or front facing in the comfortable stroller seat. This easy trigger fold stroller is not quite as cumbersome as other double strollers. While it does have a sun canopy for your younger child, the older child who sits/stands does not have sun protection which could be problematic here in Singapore.

For the Busy Urban Dweller

Maclaren Triumph

A favourite among mums all over the world, this lightweight umbrella stroller stands out because of its reclining seat. Most umbrella strollers can only accommodate children who can sit up but with 2 positions, babies as young as 3 months can cruise comfortably and safely in the Maclaren Triumph. With one hand collapse, storage basket underneath the set, high strength aluminium with carrying strap, this is great stroller for hoping on an off the bus or MRT. It weighs just under 5 kilos.

Baby Jogger Vue (or City Mini)

Walk down any Singapore street and you’re likely to see a baby strolling in the Baby Jogger City Mini or Vue. The City mini features a hand brake, adjustable handle bar, one touch folding, adjustable seat that can recline to a nearly flat position, with large protective canopy, weighing 7.2 kilos. The feature we love in the Vue is the front or rear facing seat. Both have car seat adapters.

Bugaboo Cameleon

Another popular choice among urban dwellers, the Bugaboo Cameleon is sleek and stylish.  It has everything you’d want in a stroller – the ability to go from newborn to toddler, lots of storage, easy to manoeuvre, sturdy, smooth, adjustable handle, easy to fold – AND you can customize the colour and accessories that best suit you and your baby.
