Little Islanders combines traditional craftsmanship with thoughtful design to produce contemporary “slow fashion” for little ones. Every piece is ethically sewn in Hong Kong, using artisanal hand-loomed fabrics from the Philippines. In other words, the designs are classic winners, made in quality fabrics that will last through years of rough and tumble play.

The brand uses handwoven Filipino fabric from artisan partners such as ANTHILL and Rurungan sa Tubod. The fabrics are sourced directly from weavers in the Philippines. Many of the wevers are mothers who become weavers to support their families.

Fabric patterns are picked for heritage significance as well as durability. They’re woven from organic Philippine cotton, which is luxuriously soft and breathable. So as well as supporting the weavers, you’re helping to support the revival of the cotton growing industry in the Philippines, when you buy from this sustainable kids clothes brand.

Bamboo also absorbs carbon dioxide and releases 35 percent more oxygen into the atmosphere than hardwood trees.

Apart from being sustainable, bamboo fabric also has micro-gaps which help with ventilation, trapping cool air when its warmer and warm air when it’s cooler. This helps to regulate baby’s body temperature.
