True Story: This Singaporean Dad-To-Be Works 18 Hours A Day, 7 Days A Week

Cosimo Gallery’s Kelvin Koh shares why he’s so passionate about furniture.

When Director of Cosimo Gallery Kelvin Koh first started out in the furniture industry 22 years ago, the Internet hadn’t quite taken off yet. “There weren’t any websites for purchasing furniture. We were able to make sales solely based on catalogues,” he says.

The industry has changed much since then, and Kelvin has put to good use sales experience he gained at various retailers since he was 15.

He knew straight away that he would be in this industry for good. “The first company I joined was a leather manufacturer,” he shares. “After a month, I felt that this was going to be my career as I found satisfaction in helping my customers build a beautiful home.”

The father-to-be works an average of 16 to 18 hours a day, seven days a week. “I’m hoping to spend more time at home soon, as my bundle of joy will arrive sometime in September,” he shares.

With Kelvin’s dedication to his career, it’s no wonder Cosimo Gallery is one of Singapore’s leading leather sofa manufacturers.

Customers can expect a high level of service here. No request is too far-fetched according to Kelvin, who says, “From changing armrests to customers providing their own sketches, I am numb to surprises.”

He speaks passionately about his job – when asked about some common mistakes many make when choosing a sofa, Kelvin says: “Consumers sometimes rely too heavily on interior designers and often, the space allowance for sofa sets are underestimated. This limits the homeowner’s choices for sofa centrepieces. It’s even worse if they’ve bought the wrong sofa size and cannot change it.”

“We go the extra mile by customising every single order to give our customers the best experience possible,” he says. “We prize customer satisfaction above all and provide free onsite measurements and proposals at our own expense.”

About Cosimo Gallery

Cosimo Gallery believes in using leather of the best quality.

Natural scars and creases are part and parcel of leather products, and they contribute to the beauty of leather. Non-leather lovers have the option of customising their own sofa with fabric.
