How To Watch American Football LIVE From Home In Singapore

Jonesing for your gridiron fix? This article should be a touchdown in your book!

With both the American college football and NFL seasons already underway or soon approaching, football fever is gaining momentum in the US and, yes, right here in Singapore.

As safe distancing rules still apply and with restaurants and bars not yet allowed to screen sports games, you may be wondering, “How do I watch American football games live from home?”

So grab some brekkie and/or beer and get ready to celebrate that next touchdown pass from the comfort of your own couch with these legal options…

Use a VPN
Price varies

If you already subscribe to (or want to subscribe to) a live-streaming service that is not available in Singapore due to international rights issues, a VPN can help you on your quest to watch American football games live on your smart TV or other devices in Singapore. How does it work? By changing your internet device’s IP address, a VPN – or Virtual Private Network – allows you to avoid geo-blocks. Beyond live sports, a VPN also opens doors to many other on-demand services, making this a solution for the whole family.

Some of the more popular, legal VPNs to use in Singapore include ExpressVPN, NordVPN and PIA.

Full disclosure: You can’t watch NFL games live on its channel on YouTube, but post-game highlights are uploaded almost immediately after the final whistle. (And if you don’t want to get up at the crack of dawn or stay up late-night to watch the live games, that may be just fine.)

There are also daily fantasy football updates and NFL Network shorts available. The full Super Bowl replay is typically uploaded on the channel, albeit about a month after the live event.

Watch ESPN College Football on YouTube

Dedicated entirely to college football, the ESPN College Football channel brings highlights from the Power Five conferences to you, with analysis and coverage from the ESPN stable of hosts.

Exclusive shorts such as the GameDay series are also available, giving fans a behind-the-scenes peek into the game. But, as with the NFL YouTube channel, you can’t watch the American football games live.

To keep up with both the college game and the NFL, there is perhaps no better place than the ESPN app. Highlights from the College Power Five conferences are available on-demand, while NFL fans are served by shows such as First Take and Get Up featuring some of the sports’ best-talking heads.

Download the Yahoo Sports app

Having debuted last season, the Yahoo Sports App (available on the App Store and Google Play) attempts to bring the NFL experience mobile. Fans in the U.S. can stream games with friends in a unique Watch Together synchronized livestream.

While this feature is currently not available in Singapore, local fans can still take advantage of post-game highlights on the app. There are also augmented reality highlights that show graphical replays in near real-time. Live in-game stats, schedules and rankings are available, making this the app of choice for the fantasy league player.
