South Korea’s “sound of spring” arrived back in April when Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s first international guest artist since the pandemic began, Bomsori Kim, breathed life and glitter into Mozart’s youthful First Violin Concerto. Directed by SSO Chief Conductor Hans Graf, this concert also featured the Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s world premiere of the uplifting 1942 Eighth Symphony by Danish-born composer Paul von Klenau (1883 – 1946). It’s that time of the year for SGGA’s Industry Day! 6. Singapore Through His Lens: Sharing Session by Photographer Hor Kwok Kin
Hor Kwok Kin’s passion for photography was ignited in 1958 when he bought his first camera after saving five months’ worth of salary. Since then, the chef-cum-hobbyist-photographer would spend hours pounding the streets of Singapore with his camera in hand, documenting scenes of everyday Singapore. Join Hor Kwok Kin who is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (United Kingdom) and an Associate of the Photographic Society of Singapore, and whose photographs from the 1960s are exhibited in the Home, Truly special exhibition. He will share his memories, experiences and challenges of photographing Singapore over the decades. This talk will be conducted in Mandarin and is held in conjunction with the exhibition Home, Truly: Growing Up with Singapore, 1950s to the Present.
