1. Singapore Food Festival 2021

Attention foodies! The iconic Singapore Food Festival returns for its 28th edition, and for the first time ever, it’s going to be held in a hybrid format. We’re talking about a series of online and in-person events such as live masterclasses with some of Singapore’s most esteemed chefs, virtual tours through some of the country’s most charming neighbourhoods, and on-ground food workshops where you can learn to make traditional local kuehs and more. Regardless whether you’re looking to join in the festivities in the flesh or from the comfort of your own living rooms, there’s something fun for everyone.

2. Singapore Vegan Festival

Back with its third edition, the Singapore Vegan Festival spans 10 days starting this Friday and is jam packed with entertaining and enriching activities for you. Love cooking? There are virtual talks and masterclasses where you can pick up tips and recipes from global top chefs, including Michelin Starred Chef Emmanuel Stroobant. Looking to meet with like-minded people? Sign up for a vegan food tour or pop by the Marketplace (4 and 5 September) at Swissôtel The Stamford to mingle with the community and to stock up on vegan and cruelty free essentials.

3. Bazaar In The Garden @ Jurong Lake Gardens

August’s edition of Bazaar In The Garden brings you a variety of online and in-person activities to pass time this Saturday. From the comfort of your own homes, you can take part in a children’s storytelling session with the kids, sit in an online workshop to learn how to grow grapes and blackberries in Singapore, or even gain a few tips about gardening from the experts. If you want to step out of the house, head down to the Wave Plaza at Jurong Lake Gardens for MOLLY the Mobile Library. It has books for all ages which you can borrow, without having to go to an actual library.

4. AVS Free Webinar Series: Common Skin Diseases in Dogs

Calling all pawrents! Seeing your furry kid scratching intensely or developing red spots on its skin can be heart-rending and distressing; after all, you can’t figure out what’s causing it and why it’s happening. At this webinar, Dr. Suria Fabbri, a veterinarian from the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), will bring you through some common skin diseases in dogs, what to look out for and what you can do to help your canine cope better. 5. The Front Row 2021

This free-to-view event that’s live streamed straight to the comfort of your couch brings together the most exciting and groundbreaking responsible, sustainable, inclusive and seasonless fashion labels from Singapore and beyond. 6. The Virtual Power Walk

Get your walk on at this virtual power walk event to raise funds to support women on their journey to economic independence. Be it running, walking, biking or rollerblading, you can choose any activity you like to complete this virtual walk. Even better, there isn’t a specific distance or place to finish this event, so it’s completely up to you if you prefer to do a 5-kilometre walk or a half marathon run. Regardless of your activity, your participation will help a good cause.  ​

7. Jurassic World Run Asia Pacific 2021

Here’s something different: The Jurassic World Run Asia Pacific uses augmented reality to host its virtual run. In this immersive experience, you’ll run a route where dinosaurs from the Jurassic World film franchise are on the loose to escape Isla Nublar to survive. When you complete your registered distances of 5-, 10- or 21-kilometres, you’ll unlock milestones that bring you closer to the virtual finish line. Finishers will receive an exclusive finisher T-shirt and an e-certificate. And those who finished the 10- or 21-kilometres run will receive a finisher medal on top of the other two entitlements.

8. Da Vinci, The Exhibition

If Leonardo da Vinci’s works – like his Mona Lisa and The Last Supper paintings – leave you in awe every time, this exhibition is not to be missed. Boasting the largest collection of da Vinci’s discoveries in Southeast Asia, this exhibition examines his life, research and art through the years. Spreading across 10 different exhibition zones with more than 50 fully built, life-size inventions and over 20 stunning displays, you’ll learn da Vinci’s complex beginning and lifetime achievements in Renaissance paintings, physics, music, military, flight, civil engineering, hydraulics and more.

Crafted in collaboration with up-and-coming local vegan retailer 4MY and health-focused, low carb gluten-free bakery Locaba, look forward to a 4-course dining experience that’s free of animal products but still full of flavours, textures and colours. Dig into yummy dishes like the Tomato Symphony – a trio of vine-ripened cherry tomatoes served with tomato ponzu jelly and mix seed crackers, finished with housemade romesco sauce – and YETI cheese, a collaborative dish that uses 4MY’s famed 100 percent plant-based and sustainable Yeti cheese.
