1. Exploring a career with gems


The gem industry is full of excitement and surprises. You’ll never know who you would meet or which unique gem you are going to encounter. Organised by the Far East Gemological Institute, join in this session to explore a career in gems!

Career Coach Ms. Loke Huiying, Education Director of Far East Gem Institute, will be sharing with you about her journey in this industry, switching from a pharmacist graduate to become a gemologist and entrepreneur. Today, she is a co-founder of The Gem Museum Singapore, the first and most comprehensive gems and mineral museum in Singapore that is open to the public. She has also trained more than 500 students who are sales executives in jewellery companies, jewellery design graduates as well as those who are fresh entrants in to the trade. Many of whom are successful entrepreneurs today!

5. Domestic Helpers Wellness Programme


SamataSoul is excited to introduce a new monthly programme dedicated to the well-being of domestic helpers in Singapore. Domestic helpers are a cornerstone for many families in Singapore – providing care and support to meet the needs of others. In this pandemic, the well-being of everyone has been affected in one way or another, yet not all of us may have access to the resources to give us comfort and stability in these uncertain times.

Applying its integrative approach to address mind, body, and spirit, this free programme includes:

  • A chiropractic adjustment
  • Experience sound meditation with Tibetan Singing Bowls
  • Learn simple tools using breath, movement, and gentle touch to manage stress and release stored emotions

6. Still Somehow, It’s Illusions We Recall | Short Films


Still Somehow, It’s Illusions We Recall is a film programme presented by the Singapore Art Museum in conjunction with the ongoing exhibition, The Gift. Drawing on the The Gift‘s theme of affinities and entanglements, the film programme features topics reflective of the current reality’s unprecedented disruption and isolation due to the pandemic. It will also feature familiar aspects of life in ways that are intimate, yet alienating.

The film programme will run till 4 November 2021, with on-site screenings in the Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium and Level 5 Theatrette at the National Gallery Singapore.

7. Piano Masterclass with Chiyan Wong
